Emmanuelle & Jérome Vigne have lived in Ardèche their entire lives, where they raise "Solognote" sheep to save them from extinction. When Emmanuelle's family offered them the opportunity to take over the family plots in Valvignères and Aubignas in 2021, they threw themselves wholeheartedly into this new adventure. The Oustric family from Domaine du Mazel, a renowned name in the region, took the couple under their wing. It was, in fact, during a tasting at their place that we met Jérôme.
They work exclusively with Viognier and Syrah. The Aubignas plot is located on a lava flow, giving the soil its basaltic composition, which is very particular for the region. This plot will lend its name to the "Volcanique I" cuvée.
The winemaking is simple and additive-free, depending on the vintages and grape quality. A new planting is planned for the coming years, and a cellar for barrel aging will follow.
The family is full of projects, each vintage is better than the last, and we look forward to following the evolution of this very young estate!
