Marc Balsan and Andrea Grossman settled in Valais in the early 2000s. After working at Mythopia, Marc acquired several plots of vines near Ayent.
The couple appeared as an anomaly in the Valais landscape, with unweeded vineyards, free of all chemical treatments, and manual labor. The same applies in the cellar: no oenological tricks, no additives, very little intervention.
Even the vinification methods are surprising for this region. In contrast to new oak barrel aging and over-extraction of grapes, Marc & Andrea offer delicate cuvées that express the true character of the grape varieties. And what grape varieties! Amigne, Arvine, Païen, Fendant, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Gamay.
For several years, they have been helping the new generation of winemakers settle in the region, such as La Momoterie or Lucas Madonia, who are taking over certain plots.
The estate, just over a hectare, enjoys worldwide renown, and for good reason!
